Barnacle Barney`s Tiki Bar in Maratdon

Don’t want to be horribly nasty in this review but I’m not sure there’s any other way to put it... we ordered 5 appetizers and 40 minutes later, 2 managed to come out. Never got the other 3 even after reminding the waitress. She did happen to get 5 out of the 7 meals correct. One meal came out as only a platter of French fries and the last just never came. The meals that did manage to finally make their way out were not worth the price and took a very long time. Definitely would not recommend to anyone. Total tourist trap.

Pretty decent hot wings and good service.

We stayed at The Hammocks Bluegreen resort and frequented Barnacle Barney's daily. Loved the food, staff, and atmosphere.

Scrape this barnacle off your to do list. We were served our 2 drinks after the bartenders were done discussing whose turn it was. We were obviously an inconvenience and not a welcome guest after a long day exploring the keys. Thought it would be a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal to end the day. Food was way below par for prices. The manager or owner did check on us at the end of our meal and made good, thank you. But we won't return or recommend.

LOVED IT! The food and drinks were excellent, prices good, and the service was heartfelt, sincere, and engaging. Had fun visiting with other patrons who were repeat visitors. Great fun.

Great location. Friendly waitstaff. Food, meh. Occasional games after sunset for chance to win drinks.

Absolutely love the place! Small, secluded, part of the hotel. The sign coming in said "for guests only" but the gate was not locked. So we went in and wasn't challenged. Not a large bar but an excellent Tiki. Will go again!

Such a great place. Had some friends come to Marathon to celebrate their sons sixth birthday. Mary Joe was great. They let Noah shoot of the cannon.

Absolutely no, do not go. Food was okay, service was not good. Drinks, no alcohol in them. And still waiting on our appetizers!

Nice bar behind the resort. Nice selection of cold draft beers. I had the Iguana brew. The only downside was the the grilled grouper. The piece I got was about the size of a poached egg. For $18 seems it would be alittle more 🤔

Didn’t even get to sit down bc the waitress gave us a table for 3 & there are 4 of us. Someone was yelling at us to place mask on who didn’t even have her own on....don’t know why it’s such a great place when no one was NICE.

The food and drinks are pretty decent, and the view is superb.

Excellent food good happy hour. Mary Joe and Glen are the best in Marathon, They go the “extra mile “ to make your visit enjoyable.

Went at 2pm timeline. Bartender was attentive, drinks were cold. Bar food was not enticing. Watched local charter captain filet fish and throw scraps to sharks and tarpon; so entertaining!

Kid friendly good food and right next to the resort. Loved it.

We look forward every time we vacation to seeing Mary Jo and her excellent crew! The atmosphere is always inviting & live music and games entertaining. Excellent food and generous portions. Love the cannon salute and sunset toast!

Grab yourself some wings and beer and you are set! Stay until sundown for some fun!

Good food drink and music

Great service, great drinks! Fun shots and cannon at sunset! Right near dock where there's lots of sea critters to see - manatees, tarpon, pelicans, nurse sharks, oh my!

Mediocre, overpriced food, underwhelming service. Perhaps because we went during the middle of the day, still terrible.

Beer and wine only at the bar, but otherwise a decent place to hang out - especially if staying at the attached resort. Firing the cannon at sunset is a nice way to end the day and the 9 PM shutdown on weeknights means even I can claim to have closed down the bars in the Keys.

We stopped here while on vacation in the Keys. It's a nice location on the water. The food and drinks were good.

Great food and friendly people. Live music on the water :)We stay at the on site resort and this bar has good drinks and bar food. I love the calamari! Staff is friendly and what a great location on the water to listen to live music and watch the sun set. Prices aren't bad either!

Found this place by luck. Wasn't sure what to think at first but the beers were awesome, frozen drinks were incredible. And if you go there you have to get the fried pretzels with cheese sauce..best I have ever had!

I'm giving this place 4 stars because 3 stars wouldn't really be fair. So that being said though this place you can take it or leave it and it would probably make none the difference of your trip. They have a simple solid food menu and selection of adult beverages for a good lunch stop. They have a nice quaint view down by the docks with some islands just outside the cove. Plenty of open shaded deck seating to have the views, breeze, and brews. This place does not make my top favorites but it is a nice quieter place to go to for a easy bite and a drink, and I like those kinda places where you kinda get away from the main crowd where it feels like your somewhere hidden.

Nice fresh fish sandwich, beautifull little ticky bar a nice lady Donna owns it shoots of a piret cannonon at sunset, beautifull little spot saw a bull shark yesterday and huge tarpon ,

View was nice - Food horrible! Seem to be out of shrimp periodically. Not great for seafood. Expensive & they give very small portions!

Loved it! Food was amazing, awesome fresh seafood, good drinks and lovely atmosphere for all ages! It is a little hard to find if you aren't local, but it is behind a huge hotel so not too bad... The sunset cannon fire was amazing as well!!
